Breaking with traditional retail codes
For this first collaboration, Guillaume Da Silva Architecture Intérieur decided to move away from the codes used in retail and commercial design, which are often at odds with Tikamoon's values. The aim was to create a space where visitors would forget they were in a store.
To make the space truly immersive, the architectural concept was inspired by the codes of bourgeois and Haussmann-style homes. Existing moldings were restored, soft, enveloping hues applied and subdued lighting carefully integrated.
The concept: the elegance of full beige
Guillaume Da Silva wanted the architectural gesture to be as unobtrusive as possible in order to enhance the products on display. The interior architect refrained from using wood in his design to avoid any dissonance with the solid wood of the furniture.
To reflect the brand's noble materials, the designer suggested that the client create a full beige envelope. The floors were finished in waxed concrete, the walls in limewash paint, and all ceilings and technical elements painted in a matching beige paint.
The result is a unique experience: a soothing space that immediately envelops the visitor, far removed from the usual sensations of furniture stores.
