Fitting out a shoe store on the Belgian coast

Guillaume Da Silva Architectures Intérieurs was responsible for the fit-out, design and project management of a shoe store in Belgium. The 90 m2 space was completely refurbished to reflect the image of the young Belgian designer brand.

Minimalist design and architecture

In his creation, Guillaume Da Silva wanted to work on the purity of form to the maximum, so that the design and styling of the products on display would take center stage in relation to the building's architectural envelope. Refusing to compromise on decoration, the architect's only aim was to emphasize the use and assembly of simple, noble and elegant materials. Black stone paving covers the entrance hall floor, while the fitting area is overlooked by a teak parquet podium, setting the scene for the customer's fitting. The reception counter and display area were designed using in-situ concrete. A horizontal niche and false ceiling recesses reinforce the overall perspective and depth of the store, accentuated by a play of mirrors set into the partition separating the store from its storeroom.

A timeless achievement, awarded by the Lille Chamber of Commerce

The concept of this store, imagined and designed almost 30 years ago, remains timeless, as interior architect Guillaume Da Silva wishes. This achievement was awarded a prize at the "Beffrois d'or" ceremony organized by the Lille Chamber of Commerce for the best store design concept.
