Day nursery: le monde de Louise - Tourcoing (59) France

Housed in former commercial premises on the first floor of a social housing building, this small crèche on Tourcoing's boulevard de l'Egalité, set up by the association AMFD (Aide à Domicile Mères et Familles), is designed to help women who can't afford childcare to get back to work.

Guillaume Da Silva architectures intérieurs was seduced by the social dimension of this project and was able to meet the challenge on a very tight budget, while also managing to create an outdoor terrace in addition to the initial specifications.

A design adapted to early childhood

When designing this interior layout project, the project manager worked on ergonomics adapted to children, while also thinking about the childcare assistants. The furniture for the changing tables, sanitary facilities and dormitories were all designed to ensure the comfort of caregivers and families alike.

The notion of welcome was also taken into account, as there's nothing more difficult than entrusting your child to someone else's care, and we had to make this moment gentler for families.

Stimulating decoration

The interior designer imagined soft, round shapes to prevent children from injuring themselves when they take their first steps, and a pattern of colorful animals, designed especially for the project, adorns the walls of this bright and cheerful crib. Shouldn't decoration make the world a happier place?
