As part of the public contract to design and build the reception area and offices of the Caisse régionale d'assurance maladie (regional health insurance fund) in Villeneuve d'Ascq, the Guillaume Da Silva interior design firm, which won the tender, was given the opportunity to work on an emblematic building dating from the 1980s.
A dialogue between architecture and interior design
The building, designed by architects Jacques Delerue and Serge Ménil, is characteristic of its era, with its concrete structure and distinctive coffered ceilings. The interior designer therefore wanted to preserve this contemporary heritage by taking advantage of the volumes offered by this vintage cathedral. The volumetry of the space was respected, with false ceilings and the integration of technical elements reserved for spaces requiring less generous volumetry (women's offices, meeting rooms, reception desks).
An ergonomic, communicative layout
In its specifications, the client wanted to offer these users a high-quality reception service. The interior designer's response to this challenge was to work on a spatial ergonomics that favored the fluidity and legibility of spaces.
The customer reception area also becomes a space for communication, enabling the organization to express the values that drive it.
